MORRISVILLE, Pa. -- Eric Wilcox did not make his first completion in Morrisville's 47-14 loss to Jenkintown until about two minutes left in the first half, Friday night. Before that completion, Wilcox was 0-9 with an interception.

“We don’t have a good connection right now and we need to work on it,” Wilcox said “I just need to go to practice and get better.”

The Drakes came into the game with a 0-2 record and were looking to hand the Bulldogs (0-3) their first loss of the season. The Bulldogs had a strong start after receiving the ball on the game’s opening possession. Sophomore Jimmie Miller had a 64 yard touchdown run to put the Bulldogs up 7-0 just minutes into the contest, but that would be it for the Bulldogs in the first half.

On their next two possessions they were forced to punt, which opened the doors for the Drakes offense.  Tom Kinniry started things off with a 44 yard touchdown run in the first, which was quickly followed by Kinnery’s second touchdown of the night.
Morrisville did move the ball from time to time and was driving down the field at the start of the second quarter.  But when a holding penalty cancelled a completion for 40 yards at the start of the second quarter, Morrisville’s offense stalled yet again.

The Bulldogs defense made a big stop on fourth down while trailing 33-7 late in the second, giving Wilcox and the Bulldogs the ball on the 25 yard line. Wilcox’s trouble continued as he fumbled on the 18 yard line and the Drakes took that lead into the half.
And that is all the Drakes would need.
In the second half, the Bulldogs suffered many of the same problems. They managed to get the Drakes to punt on their first possession giving them the ball on their 47 yard line, but just one play later Wilcox threw his second interception of the night which was picked off by corner back Jack Kinniry. It would not take long for the Drakes to spot the holes in the Morrisville defense.
Drakes junior Pat Stillmun ran for a 61 yard touchdown with 5:31 left in the third to put the Drakes ahead 40-7. The Bulldogs would however end the game on a 24 yard touchdown pass from Wilcox to Kevin McClease, something positive the quarterback can take away.

“We approached this game like any other, we wanted to get the ball into our playmaker’s space, but we had a horrible week in terms of practice", said Morrisville coach Jim Gober after the game. “He [Wilcox] had some shoddy play here and there, young quarterback making his second start hopefully he’ll improve as we move on.”
