DiValentino, Twer power Jenkintown over Samuel Fels

It's a cliché, to be sure, but the phrase, 'What a difference a year makes,' holds a great deal of significance at Jenkintown.
Hired just weeks before the season began last season, coach Harold Smith and his staff had to do pretty much everything on the fly. With a year together, the staff and the players are reaping the benefits.
"The kids are used to us and we've been able to implement our system," Smith said. "They know what we expect out of them."

The Drakes knew what to do last Friday, scoring 25 first-quarter points and rolling to a 37-0 non-league victory over Philadelphia's Samuel Fels.
"It was a nice win," Smith said. "The kids played well and we did what we had to do. We did some film study we knew what to expect."

Defensive end Chris DiValentino recorded three sacks and recovered a pair of fumbles, returning the second one 56 yards for a touchdown.
"Last year he wanted to play linebacker," Smith said, "but I think even he would admit that it's better playing defensive end because that's a position that he can play at the next level."
The Drakes took advantage of early Fels mistakes.
Alex Flood turned a Fels fumble on the opening kickoff into a 38-yard touchdown run on the first play from scrimmage to get the Drakes off to a fast start.

After the Drakes recovered another Fels fumble, Aiden Twer, who also had a pair of interceptions and returned a punt 51 yards for a touchdown, then scored on a 19-yard pass from quarterback Conor Beltz.
Shawn McCarthy scored on an 11-yard run, then Twer closed out the first period with his punt return to give Jenkintown a 25-0 lead.

McCarthy added his second score from a yard out early in the second quarter, then DiValentino capped the impressive win with his fumble return less than two minutes into the final quarter.
McCarthy led the way in the ground with 107 yards on just 14 carries. Beltz was six of nine passing for 86 yards and a touchdown.
